Holotype: MNHN -IU-2013-8460, ♂, 22 September 2006.
Type locality: Vanuatu. SANTO, Stn AT22, 15°32.3'S, 167°16.0'E, 180–227 m.
Etymology: From the Latin, puncta, puncture, in reference to the blue dots on the body.
