Holotype: MNHN -IU-2008-15936, ♂, 5 August 1994.
Type locality: New Caledonia. BATHUS 4, Stn CP912, 18°55.61’S, 163°07.68’E, 690–702 m.
Etymology: From the Latin crinitus, hairy, in reference to the numerous setae on the body and appendages.
