Galathea barbata Macpherson & Robainas-Barcia, 2015: 55, fig. 15

Holotype: MNHN -IU-2013-15845, ♂, 20 July 1988.

Type locality: New Caledonia. Chesterfield Islands. CORAIL 2, Stn DW9, 20°53'S, 161°35'E, 62 m.

Etymology: From the Latin barbatus, bearded, in reference to the numerous setae on the body.
