Holotype: Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, (R.B.I.N.), Brussels. Reg. N°. IG 32585, RIR 213, ♀, in a permanent, glycerine glass slide mount.
Type locality: UK, Blackwater River catchment (Kelvedon, Essex, East Anglia, England).
Etymology: The species name essexis is a latinization of the type locality, Essex, as a noun in the genitive case.
