Holotype: MNHN 24271.
Type locality: Vanuatu Archipelago, west of Tutuba Island, 15°33.6’S, 167°16.5’E, 70 m (SANTO 2006 stn DS93).
Etymology: A micro-scallop with a smooth disc (Latin “apertus”, adjective meaning uncovered or laevis).
