- Distribution: Upper littoral, Great Britain, Europe Atlantic coast, Mediterranean, Black Seas; sympatric with Chthamalus stellatus, but occupying higher levels of littoral zone

- Synonymized to Chthamalus stellatus by Darwin; name has no priority, and description is too vague to be valid; Southward, 1976, considers not conspecific with B. punctatus of Pulteney
