• Holotype: SIO-BIC P1538, collected by A. S. Kahn using MBARI ROV Tiburon, dive T1094 from R/V Western Flyer on 5 June 2007.
• Type locality: “3,950 m depth, Station M (34º50’N, 123º0’W)”, northeast Pacific.
