Holotype: ZIHU 4255, fixed in 10% seawater formalin, preserved in 70% ethanol.
Type locality: Among algae, 42°33'N, 139°50'E, Setana, Hokkaido, Japan, 10 May 2010.
Etymology: The specific epithet is an adjective derived from Ezo, the old place name for Hokkaido, in combination with the Latin suffix -ensis.
