• Type: N. Wallich Cat. 6269B (in flower; Lectotype: BM [​BM000945077^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, determined by G.G. Maiti on 14 April 1986]; Isolectotypes: CAL [​CAL0000010661 (199015)], K [​K000030987^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, determined by Maiti on 14 April 1986]; 'Type': E [​E00502352^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]; cf. BR [​BR0000005736072^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, as W. tinctoria (Roxb.) DC.]).
  • Note: Cowan (1932: 310) notes that Cat. No. 6269B (as W. tinctoria) consists of 3 elements of W. wallichii (K-W (K001123482^{(GBIF, JSTOR)} [the right hand specimen]), K and CAL), and other 2 of W. scabra (K-W [​K001123757^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, the left hand specimen], CAL [numbered '6269' without letter; cf. CAL0000010662 (199017)]), suggesting Wight & Arnott may have described W. wallichii upon K or CAL specimen due to poorness of K001123482.
