What I am concerned about is how accurate the data was feeding into Wikidata. Pages that use scientific latin name are usually ok, but not the ones which uses common name (as illustrated in my example back in January/February).
We do have a few levels that, as far as I know, Wikipedias (note that it's in plural form) don't cover, such as superorder, tribe, etc. You can see a list of levels that we use. Those levels don't have any equivalent interwiki pages.
And what will phase 2 involve?
