Welcome to Wikispecies!

Hello, and welcome to Wikispecies! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

If you have named a taxon, then it is likely that there is (or will be) a Wikispecies page about you, and other pages about your published papers. Please see our advice and guidance for taxon authors.

If you have useful images to contribute to Wikispecies, please upload them at Wikimedia Commons. This is also true for video or audio files containing bird songs, whale vocalization, etc.

Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username (if you're logged in) and the date. Please also read the Wikispecies policy What Wikispecies is not. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or in the Village Pump. Again, welcome!

Hi, indeed most of your fish images were copyrighted. What the babyrousa image concerns: it states no commercial use and that is not acceptable for commons. It is to the Wikimedia Commons that you should upload anyway. A last small remark, please sign your messages with ˜˜˜˜, so that we know who's talking. Thanks for contibuting, btw, I've noticed your efforts to stick to syntax and formatting. Lycaon 15:03, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why don't you take a careful look at the changes I made for you here[[1]]. If you want to contribute you need to follow the standards we are currently using, which can be quite difficult to master. Kempm 21:37, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Italics

edit

Please italicize genera and species. Lycaon 10:28, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Linking images

edit

Images can only be linked when they are uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons or to the wiki you're currently working with. EuphorbiaPolychroma.jpg is on the German wikipedia. It should be copied to Commons before it can be used in Wikispecies (and all other wikipedias for that matter). Lycaon 11:02, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
