  • many publications on fossil taxa place Ommatidae as a subfamily (Ommatinae) of Cupedidae. They then subdivide Ommatinae into tribes. To avoid confusion, I retain these tribes as tribes of Ommatidae (without subfamilies).
    Note: The above was given to explain the "Disputed" notice in 2008, but then later overwritten with the sections below with no explanation (making the Disputed notice itself appear unexplained). Ommatidae's page appears to have since been modified to follow Bouchard et al. (2011)'s use of three subfamilies, while pushing the remaining tribes into Ommatinae. Kirejtshuk et al.'s publications on fossil taxa still prefer placing Ommatidae as a subfamily of Cupedidae to this day, however. Monster Iestyn (talk) 01:09, 29 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
