Possible identity of "C. Brun"

edit

Okay, so, IPNI and Index Fungorum appear to be unhelpful in figuring this out directly, because they both list "Alternaria brassicae (Berk.) Sacc. 1880" as an example of a name published by the author, which obviously does not have "Brun" in the authority. (see [1], [2]) According to Index Fungorum in the synonymy of Alternaria brassicae however, what actually might be the name authored by "C. Brun" is the synonym Alternaria brassicae f. microspora Brunaud 1897 (protologue), but then that would mean "C. Brun." might actually be Paul Brunaud, which raises questions as to what "C." stands for and why it's on mycology databases to begin with. Nevertheless Paul Brunaud seems the most plausible identity for this taxon author anyway, given the floruit year. Anyone else have any insight here?
