Sargassum orotavicum T.Diaz-Villa, J.Afonso-Carrillo & M.Sanson, 2004

• Holotype locality: Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, Canary Islands. Holotype: Julio Afonso-Carillo; 28 April 2002; Exposed tide pool in lower eulittoral. TFC Phyc 11680. (Type is illustrated as fig. 1.)
