  • Lectotype (designated by Proctor, Fl. L. Antill. 2: 144 (1977)): Plumier, Traité Foug. Amér., pl. 14 (1705), illustrating a plant from Haiti, along La Grande Rivière, near Leogane. Epitype (designated by Cremers 2005): a sheet from the same locality (P 00322134).
