Name

Pavetta madrassica Bremek., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 37: 91 (1934)

• Typus: W. Elliot s.n. (Holotypus: E [cf. E00327896^(JSTOR), 'unspecified kind of type']).
  • Note: the paratype R. Wight 1481 (fruit only, [collected in 1866]; K [​K000031462^(JSTOR)]) has a duplicate in CAL, which consists of two different specimens: the upper one is P. madrassica and the lower one P. indica L. (vide Rout & Deb 1999). Paratype also deposited in LE 00017443^(JSTOR).
• Type locality: India. Madras[Andhra Pradesh]: Simkachellam[Simhachalam].
