Type: G.H.K. Thwaites C.P. 2815 ([March 1868]; K; Isotypes: BM, CAL [CAL0000016281 (210764), determined on 19 January 1989 by D.B. Deb & R.C. Rout with P. gleniei, with malacophylla struck out despite the number '2815 c'], P [P03967417^(GBIF), as Pavetta malacophylla annotated by Bremekamp]; Possible type: NY [NY00132496^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]; cf. P [P03967418^(GBIF), ex BM, as Pavetta malacophylla, one of the slips was left by C.E.B. Bremekamp in 1932], US [US02508135 (597377)^(GBIF), ex PDA, received in August 1908, without any type indication]).
Type locality: [Sri Lanka.] Batticaloa District.
