- Type locality: "La Palma", San José, Costa Rica
- Lectotype: Brade & C. Brade 215 (UC; isolectotypes BM, GH, NY)
- Designated by Moran & Prado (2010:175), they further note (Moran & Prado, 2010:178) that the syntype cited in the protologue, Brade 215a, could not be located, but that specimen numbered "215" are annotated in Rosenstock's hand, hence the designation.
