Type: L.J. Brass 5279 (with male flowers, 15 October 1933; Holotype: A 00041813^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}; Isotypes: BRI-AQ0340621^(JSTOR), NY [NY00355287^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]; cf. LAE 75919).
Type locality: ~~British~~[Papua] New Guinea. Central Division: Mafulu, alt. 1250 m., in limestone forest substage.
