- Type locality: Brasilien [= BRAZIL]. [Amazonas:] Bei Manáos im Walde am Pensador [= Near Manaus in the forest on Pensador].

- Colombian occurrence had been represented by P. Palacios 2456 (collected in Caquetá, alt. 595–630 m, 23 August 1992; deposited in COL [COL000152326 (393297)]), which was re-determined with I. vasquezii C.M.Taylor by Luis C. Jiménez in 2018.
