Notes
edit- Contrary to her own view in 2012, Taylor (& Jardim) (2020) recognizes occurrences of this species only from northern Costa Rica to western Panama and regards Colombian plants previously included in this name as Faramea grandifolia Standl. and F. cestroides Standl.. Jiménez (2002) and Mendoza et al. (2004) cited A. Gentry [& E. Rentería A.] 23836 (collected in Quibdó, Chocó, alt. 80 m, 8 January 1979; deposited in COL [COL000149606 (204313)], MO-1534331 (2706415)(GBIF)), and Delprete & Cortés-B. (2015) Devia [et al.] 3992 (collected in Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, alt. 500 m, 14 April 1993; deposited in MO-1532854 (04884029)(GBIF), TULV; also in COL [COL000050368 (399148)]) as Colombian occurrences of this species. Taylor has re-determined them with F. calophylla Standl. and F. grandifolia respectively by 2018.
- Panaman occurrence is also represented by H.W. Churchill 5245 (collected in Chiriquí, alt. 1100 m, 23 May 1984; deposited in MO-999517 (3622280)(GBIF); also in MEXU [PV456512]).
- Ecuadoran occurrence was based on misidentified material.
- Plants of the World Online also recognizes occurrence in Brazil North, while Flora e Funga do Brasil denies it.
