Type species: Doodia aspera R. Br. LT designated by J. Smith, Hist. Filicum 309 (1875).

Note: This narrow circumscription of Doodia is commonly rejected by some local botanists, who do not accept a broad definition of Blechum. Govaerts et al. (2023) and APC (2023) maintain this genus as a synonym within Blechum s.l.
