• Typus: G. Klug 2362 (October–November 1931, with flowers; Holotypus: F [​V0040880F (668885)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]; ⧼Isotypi⧽: MO-2049184 (1039486)^(GBIF), NY [​NY00131170^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}], US [​US00129930 (1456980)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]).
• Type locality: Peru. Loreto: at mouth of Río Zubineta, forest, Río Putumayo, Florida, alt. ca 180 m.

• Colombian occurrence is represented by R. Romero-Castañeda 4099 (collected at bank of Caguan River, south of Cartagena, Caquetá, alt. 100 m, 24 April 1953; deposited in COL [​COL000148574 (73971)]).
• Gomes et al. (2020) do not recognize Brazilian occurrence.
