  • Type locality: Alameda, San Francisco Bay, California.
  • Holotype: W.J.V. Osterhout & N.L. Gardner; 26 September 1903; on damp ground among Salicornia; IT; UC472617. Isotypes: Leiden, L1284, L2989. (Exsiccatae Phycotheca Boreali-Americana No. 1284).
