• Type locality: Cologne Gardens, south of Horsburgh Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Australia (12.08291°S, 96.83329°E).
• Holotype: G.W. Saunders & K. Dixon; 2013-12-04; subtidal, 10 m on reef flat. UNB GWS037700 (Saunders et al. 2017: 112, figs 79-85). Isotype: UNB GWS037721.
