  - Typus: G.N. Collins 164 (12 January 1907; Holotypus: US [US00000592 (692157)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}]).
  - Type locality: Mexico. State of Chiapas: near San Fernandino[San Fernando], between Tuxtla [Gutiérrez] and Chicoasen, in association with Acacia Collinsii Safford [≡ Vachellia collinsii (Saff.) Seigler & Ebinger].

Northern America Mexico Mexico Gulf (Veracruz), Mexico Southwest (Oaxaca), Mexico Southeast (Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Tabasco). Southern America Central America Belize, Guatemala.
