Urtica massaica Mildbr., Notizbl. Bot. Gard. Mus. Berlin-Dahlem 8: 275 (1923)

• Typus: Endlich 170 (female, in flower, January 1909; Holotypus: B [destroyed]).
• Type locality: [Tanzania.] Kilimandscharo, Nordseite, Olmolog, ca. 1500 m ü. M., Bachufer [= kilimanjaro, north side, Olmolog, ca. 1500 m, above sea level, river bank].
