Spinosaurus aegyptiacus

Some facts about this giant dinosaur:

Length: 12.6 to 18 metres.
Weight: Up to 6 tons.
Range: North Africa of today.
Lived: Middle Cretaceous (95 million years ago).
Feeding: Mainly fish.

Spinosaurus aegyptiacus is likely the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs. Had large neural spines growing on the back (known as sail or hump) probably used for heat regulation and display. Walked on two legs most of the time. Lived both on land and in water like a modern crocodilian. Discovered in 1912 by the German paleontologist Ernst Stromer while conducting a survey in Egypt.
