A premium-size 128-kg tuna fetched at the Tokyo fish market auction $100,000 in January 2009. It was purchased by a Hong Kong sushi bar. Bluefin tuna is considered by gourmets to have the best taste of all tuna, but it has declined to only 3% of its 1960 abundance because of overfishing.
