Polar Bear

Ursus maritimus

Belongs to the class mammalia (mammals) and to the order carnivora (carnivores).

An adult male weighs around 350–680 kg (770–1,500 lb), while an adult female is about half that size.

Classified as vulnerable and declining, their habitat is being reduced due to climate change. The total population is estimated to be around 22,000–25,000 individuals.

Found throughout the Arctic Circle and adjacent land masses.
