Abstract

A revision of the Palaearctic species of the genus Psilota is given. Two new species are described: Psilota exilistyla spec. nov. and P. nana spec. nov. A lectotype is designated for P. innupta RONDANI, 1857. The following taxonomical changes are proposed: Pipiza (Heringia) curvinervis STROBL, 1898 is a junior synonym (syn. nov.) of Psilota innupta RONDANI, 1857; Psilota dersu VIOLOVITSH, 1980 is a junior synonym (syn. nov.) of Psilota brevicornis SHIRAKI, 1968; Psilota plumbella BECKER, 1907 is a junior synonym (syn. nov.) of P. innupta RONDANI, 1857; Psilota rotundicornis STROBL, 1898 is a junior synonym (syn. nov.) of Pipiza quadrimaculata (PANZER, 1804); Psilota toubkalana KASSEBEER, 1995 is a junior synonym (syn. nov.) of Psilota atra (FALLÉN, 1817). A checklist and key to all Palaearctic species is provided.
