Note: Vernonia s.l. contained some 1000 species worldwide. However, the contemporary consensus to segregate all but species from the northern Americas to other genera within the tribe and the taxon page over now reflects this. Please note that Hassler 2017 still show some 350 combinations yet to be analysed for segregation or synonymy. Andyboorman (talk) 19:21, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

• The redirects have now been made where combinations have been formally circumscribed to date. However, there are still well over 300 species of Vernonia still to be analysed for segregation.
