  • this species belongs to the Ptinella cavelli group
  • members of the cavelli group are not truly dimorphic
  • P. snarensis is brachypterous (not truly apterous, contra Johnson, 1982: 360-361), but not depigmented or blind
  • Johnson (1975: 12) initially referred P. snarensis specimens to form aptera, but later corrected this (Johnson, 1982: 360)
