Old talk edit

The phylum Platyhelminthes has recently undergone major reorganization. The classical split into Cestoda, Monogenea, Trematoda and Turbellaria is no longer valid, both based on morphological and molecular evidence (see the article by Seth Tyler at http://devbio.umesci.maine.edu/styler/globalworming/platyhelm.htm).

Seth Tyler and his colleagues also maintain the most up-to-date taxonomic database for the free-living members of this phylum (i.e. the group that was formely called Turbellaria). This database can be found at http://turbellaria.umaine.edu

Thanks, I have added this to Wikispecies:Done and to do --Kempm 11:21, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vernacular Names? edit

The vernacular names aren't showing up, but I don't know how to fix the coding that's in there.

Subdivisions edit

What do you propose for the subdivisions?

Monogenea needs to be splitted in Monopisthocotylea and Opisthocotylea (unless you favor classification according to larval phasis)
