Resiliance

edit

This species is very drought tolerant once established and also very resistant to cold. It is also tolerant of most soil types.

Note: Canary Island botanists often prefer to segregate Olea cerasiformis and Olea maderensis from O. europea. However, this has not reached consensus in the wider botanic community and so the two species taxon pages have been tagged as disputed for now. WS takes a conservative view and has to retain the affected sub-species Olea europaea subsp. cerasiformis and Olea europaea subsp. guanchica in line with consensus.
