Talk:Nosferatu
The online pre-publication in 2014 was not fullfilling Article 8.5 of the amendment of the ICZN, where its stated that:
8.5.3. be registered in the Official Register of Zoological Nomenclature (ZooBank) (see Article 78.2.4) and contain evidence in the work itself that such registration has occurred.
The latter did not happen, so publication date is that of the print edition, which was in 2015 and not in 2014.
But the validity of the genus is havily disputed by Mejía et al., 2015 who state:
"Finally, we rejected the recent proposal of De la Maza-Benignos et al. (2014), who suggested that the species included in the H. labridens species group must be segregated into a new genus named Nosferatu because the morphological characters that support both genera are also present in species of the other genus (Pérez-Miranda et al. in prep.)."
