Talk:Mecodema regulus
Distribution
edit- New Zealand [endemic]
Notes
edit- According to Seldon & Leschen (2011: 38), [quote]Britton (1964) had described this species with a subspecific name “mihi” which was unnecessary since there was no other subspecies included in the species[unquote], referring to the previously unpublished holotype label, which they quote verbatim, but, of course, the "mihi" was intended by Britton not as a subspecies epithet, but rather to denote that he himself was the author of the taxon. See Evenhuis (2008) for a general discussion.
