Talk:Knightia (Plantae)

This genus is normally assumed to be monotypic. However the following needs checking:
Knightia integrifolia is a synonym of Knightia strobilina (Brongiart & Gris, 1865), but the later may be a synonym of Eucarpha strobilina. According to Tropicos (2015) Knightia strobilina is a combination with the basionym Embothrium strobilinum Labill. (1806) and Knightia deplanchii, but not Eucarpha deplanchei, is a valid combination. For both Tropicos and IPNI Eucarpha appears as a genus with no species records. Weston & Barker (2006) deals with a bitypic Eucarpha and a monotypic Knightia. However, see Johnson & Briggs (1975) who recognizsed the distinctiveness of Eucarpha. Andyboorman (talk) 20:29, 5 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
