The references do not support the three sub-families classification on the taxon page. Andyboorman (talk) 21:22, 15 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

The traditional subfamilial classification of three subfamilies and their associated tribes is breaking down - see refs over. There are many proposals on the table including; additional tribes, resurrection of genera, species moving between genera and recircumscriptions galore! Most of these changes are still proposals - see Odontostemma, so need to be treated with caution until accepted by the wider community of authorities. However, Stevens favours dispensing with the subfamilies and using the 11 tribes identified by Harbaugh et al., (2010) and Greenberg and Donoghue (2011). Stevens also notes that there is still more work to be undertaken on genera. It is difficult to advise how WS should proceed. Editors must make up their minds but IMO be cautious. The mixed system is causing confusion additional refs are supporting the tribal classification as opposed to the subfamily. Time to make a decision - see Stevens. Andyboorman (talk) 13:14, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
