Type: Mexico, Chihauhua: vicinity of Cascade de Cusarare (canyon below falls) on Quercus, 27o36'50"N, 107o34'20"W, 2100 m, 22 July 1994, T.H. Nash III 37366 (ASU, holotype; MEXU, MIN, US, isotypes).
Substrate and ecology: (Sonoran Desert Region) In mixed pine and oak forest, on bark of Quercus and amongst mosses on rhyolite and other acid rocks, 1700-2300 m)
Note: Both fresh and dried specimens smell of amines (fishy).
