Basionym
- Salsola parviflora Botsch., Bot. Zhurn. (Moscow & Leningrad) 59: 40. (1974)
  - Type: South-West Africa [Namibia]. Kalkriff am Nordufer des Swakop, 18 December 1956, Seydel 847. Holotype: M-0110654.

Craven & Kolberg (1999: 64) considered S. parviflora as identical with S. seydelii. That was not followed by Klopper et al. (2006).
