- Type locality: Strain JAW4846, collected in Coral Bay, Western Australia. Holotype: MEL 2389688. Isotypes: MICH 701679, UC 2050600. Notes: The culture from which the holotype derives (JAW4846) has been accessioned (CCMP3453) by the Provasoli- Guillard National Center for Marine Algae and Microbiota (NCMA), Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, P.O. Box 380, 60 Bigelow Drive, East Boothbay, ME 04544, USA.
