- Type locality: Northern Foxe Basin, Canada: leads and sea holes at Hooper Inlet and Richard's Bay in the vicinity of Igloolik Island (69°23'N, 81°45'W).
- Holotype: fig. 11. 1989-06; salinity: c. 33 parts per thousand; temperature: c. -1.5°C.
