Type species: Pterisanthes cissioides Blume, Bijdr. Fl. Ned. Ind. 4: 193. (1825)

Note: Ma et al. (2020) have present evidence that this genus could be in synonymy with Ampelocissus Planch. (1790), but no combinations have been made to effect the transfer. In addition , its unique laminate floral morphology is difficult to place in Ampelocissus, although it may be be derived from this genus (Ickert-Bond et al. 2015).
