• Typus: Wight s.n. ex Wallich Cat. 8460 'Rubiacea Hb. Wight.' (lectotypus: K-K000031684); designated by Deb & Gangopadhyay (1989: 54).
  • Type locality: India.
    • Note: the type-protologue also includes the statement "Travancore; at Courtallam, Wight", but Deb & Gangopadhyay treat it as a collection different from the lectotype (Tropicos).
