Notes

Psychotria humilis var. maior E.M.A.Petit, Bull. Jard. Bot. État Bruxelles 36: 181 (1966), once regarded as a synonym of this taxon (Govaerts 2003), seems to have been reduced to Psychotria cornuta Hiern since the type J.P.M. Brenan 8518 (locality: Nigeria. Prov. Benin[Edo State], Okomu Forest Reserve, Compartment 70; date: [16 December 1947]) stored in K (K000379515^(JSTOR) and K000379516^(JSTOR); isotypi: BR-BR0000008853240, P-P00300399^(JSTOR)) have been re-determined as the above-mentioned taxon in 2014, and paratypes stored in BM, i.e. P.W. Richards 3078 (locality: Nigeria. Prov. Ijebu[Osun State], Shasha Forest Reserve; BM001010237) and P.W. Richards 3385 (locality: same as 3078; BM001010236), as Psychotria ceratalabastron K.Schum. by O. Lachenaud.
