Diagnosis: Squamae ad 4 mm diam., plus minusve elongatae, adnatae vel partim imbricatae, brunneae, pruinosae vel epruinosae, margine albo. Apothecia laminalia, ad 1.5 mm diam., plana vel leviter convexa, interdum modice convexa, rufa, vulgo epruinosa. Thallus sine acido lichenoso.
Type: U.S.A. Minnesota, Wabasha County, Snake Creek Valley State Forest Area, 4 mi NW of Weaver (8 mi SE of Wabasha), prairie with scattered rock outcrops, 15 July 1979, Brako 1904 (holotype, MIN).
