Psora californica Timdal, 1986


Diagnosis: Squamae ad 6 mm diam., elongatae, adnatae vel adscendentes, castaneae, nitidae, epruinosae, vulgo laeves, margine concolori. Apothecia laminalia, ad 1.5 mm diam., mox valde convexa, immarginata, atrobrunnea vel atra, epruinosa. Thallus acidum gyrophoricum, acidum lecanoricum et acidum bourgeanicum aut substantiae anthraquinoideae continens.

Type: U.S.A. California, Los Angeles County, San Antonio Mountains, Evey Canyon, alt. 3,200 ft. on earth in crevices of rocks, 28 November 1918, Johnston 3180 (holotype, FH; isotype, POM; belonging to strain I).

Distribution: U.S.A., California; MEXICO, Baja California
