• Type locality: Heron Island, Capricorn Group, southern Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia.
• Holotype: G.T. Kraft & R.W. Ricker; 7 Aug. 1978; on coral tines along the vertical reef wall at "Gorgonia Hole", 12-15 m depth; MELU; GBR-15261a.
