- Holotype: strain UTEX 1913, permanently cryopreserved in a metabolically inactive state (cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen) in the SAG, University of Göttingen, Germany.
- Iconotype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017 in support of the holotype): Fig. 110 in Tupa (1974).
